Quartet Con Alma presents an evening of Latin jazz at Peggy's Skylight, exploring the rich musical traditions that have shaped jazz throughout its history. From the Cubop sound of 1950s New York to the rhythms of samba and bossa nova, the ensemble draws inspiration from influential composers including Horace Silver, Tom Jobim, Sergio Mendes, and Chick Corea.
Led by pianist Paul Deats alongside bassist Simon Paterson, percussionist Rich Kensington, and drummer Simon Bowhill, the quartet performs with soul and authenticity. The performance spans a carefully curated repertoire, from energetic pieces to relaxed explorations of classic Latin jazz standards. Doors open at 7pm with the performance running from 8pm to 10pm, featuring an interval.
