About this event

The Warsaw Philharmonic performs under conductor Krzysztof Urbański at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. This programme features pianist Alexandra Dariescu performing Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, a youthful showpiece that places the soloist centre stage. The concert opens with Grazyna Bacewicz's Scherzo, a work that demonstrates the Polish composer-violinist's distinctive voice. Lutosławski's Little Suite follows, presenting accessible 20th-century Polish composition with folk-inspired themes. The programme concludes with Beethoven's Seventh Symphony, celebrated for its physical energy and memorable melodies. A pre-concert talk featuring Alexandra Dariescu takes place at 18:20 in the auditorium. Tickets from £12.50.
