Pianist Junyan Chen brings her acclaimed artistry to the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall for this Sunday Piano Series performance. A runner-up at the Leeds Piano Competition in 2024, Chen is recognised for her adventurous programming and engaging interpretations.
The programme spans three distinctive works: Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, an elegant suite reflecting on memory and loss; Chick Corea's Children's Songs, showcasing playful simplicity and jazz influences; and Brahms' Piano Sonata No. 2, a virtuosic and passionate work from the composer's early career. The informal concert format includes introductions from the stage, with the opportunity to meet the pianist in the bar afterwards.
