Nottingham Operatic Society presents Chess The Musical, a reimagined production of the award-winning musical by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus with lyrics by Tim Rice. Originally conceived as a concept album, Chess debuted in the West End in 1986 and has been staged worldwide to critical acclaim.
This romantic drama unfolds against the backdrop of Cold War politics, featuring a memorable score including "One Night in Bangkok," "Anthem," "Heaven Help My Heart" and "I Know Him So Well." The production marks the musical's return to Nottingham Theatre Royal since 2010, presented by the company behind recent productions of Les Misérables and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
