Matthew Bourne's The Car Man returns to Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, presenting a contemporary reimagining of Bizet's Carmen. Set in a 1950s American garage-diner, the narrative follows a small town's descent into turmoil following the arrival of a mysterious stranger. Through passionate choreography and a dramatic score by Terry Davies and Rodion Shchedrin, the production explores themes of desire, betrayal and revenge.
