Trumpeter Quentin Collins presents an evening of classic jazz at Peggy's Skylight, featuring music inspired by the legendary Blue Note Records catalogue. Joined by pianist Gareth Williams and a skilled rhythm section, Collins explores hard bop, modal grooves and swinging standards associated with artists including Lee Morgan, Horace Silver and Herbie Hancock. The performance balances carefully arranged pieces with spontaneous improvisation from an accomplished ensemble.
