Rodina is the long-standing musical evolution of Irish born singer-songwriter Aoife Hearty and her partner, and keyboardist and co-writer Joe Tatton (The New Mastersounds). After a six-year hiatus, Rodina returned to the forefront of the UK jazz-funk scene with their most ambitious project to date: the album, Good Company. They are returning to Peggy’s Skylight with the same great line-up and vinyl copies of the new record.

Seamlessly weaving together acid jazz, cosmic jazz-funk, and a touch of hippy Americana, all anchored by Aoife’s effortlessly soulful vocals and Joe’s vintage Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes textures. Add in Luke Flowers on drums (Cinematic Orchestra, Chip Wickham) and long time collaborator Peter Mason on guitar, topped off by Nick Etwell, trumpet ace from London’s The Filthy Six.

Following a run of gigs in Spain and a new album on the way songs from which are getting airplay on Jazz FM and 6 Music Rodina will be bringing another great show to Nottingham.
