Me & Mr Jones Quartet takes the stage at Peggy's Skylight for an evening of jazz, soul, and blues. Founded by Rachel and Paul, the group also features Simon Paterson on bass and Stevie Smith on drums. The performance spans two sets with an interval, drawing from the Great American Songbook alongside fresh interpretations of classic and lesser-known compositions, complemented by original material.
The quartet's repertoire encompasses works by Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, and Lennon/McCartney. Rachel Foster, a jazz and pop vocalist with extensive touring experience, leads the ensemble with a mature, commanding presence. Paul Deats brings accomplished piano work, renowned for his inventive arrangements and thoughtful compositions. Together, they deliver a sophisticated musical experience blending traditional standards with contemporary sensibility.
