This talk examines the historical treatment, restraint, and institutional responses to mental health and disadvantage during this transformative period.

L C Winter is a gothic historical fiction writer whose work explores relationships and place. Following an English degree, she pursued a diverse career as a gardener at historic properties, deepening her connection to the past. Her debut novel Spider, Spider was published in March 2026. The event includes an in-depth presentation followed by a question and answer session.
