The Living Map: come and explore a 3D interactive model of Nottingham City

The Living Map offers visitors an interactive exploration of Nottingham's urban landscape through a 3D printed model of the city centre. Originally awarded Map of the Year by the British Cartographic Society in 2024, the model is enhanced through dynamic projection to reveal layers of historical, cultural, environmental and urban geography.

Developed collaboratively by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham City Council, the installation demonstrates how data visualization and multiple perspectives can deepen understanding of city spaces. Hosted sessions will be led by the University's City as Lab initiative and School of Geography, providing guided insights into the model's various geographical dimensions.
