Join artist Sarah Konudala for Hand & Pattern, a hands-on block printing workshop using natural plant-based dyes and traditional wooden blocks sourced from Hyderabad, India. Part of Great Big Green Week 2026 at Nottingham Central Library, this session explores sustainable creative practices through accessible techniques.

Participants will learn how plant-based dyes are prepared and discover how to build repeat patterns using traditional block printing methods. Working with natural materials and limited resources, attendees will create their own printed piece on watercolour paper, experimenting with colour, layering, and pattern combinations. The finished work can be kept as artwork or transformed into a handmade card.

Designed to be relaxed and exploratory, the workshop welcomes adults, families, and beginners. It offers an opportunity to engage with traditional techniques whilst adopting a more thoughtful approach to creativity.
