Nottingham Central Library presents Feminist Folklore and Poetry, a series of workshops led by poet, filmmaker and activist Kate MacAlister. Developed in partnership with Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature, this final instalment of the Creators in Residence program explores the intersection of women's history, witchcraft, and creative writing.
Participants can attend individual sessions or the complete three-workshop series. Session one focuses on prose poetry inspired by folklore and mythology, drawing on authors such as Sharon Blackie. Subsequent sessions explore poetry as a tool for change and collage poetry using archival materials and historical narratives. Each workshop provides practical techniques and a supportive environment for developing creative writing skills.
