Brian Bilston headlines the Nottingham Poetry Festival this year. If you’re less familiar with the UK poetry scene we can tell you that this is a bit of a coup – born Paull Millicheap in Birmingham, he made his name as the ‘Poet Laureate of of Twitter’, and when he later got traction, also was dubbed the ‘Banksy’ of poetry, hiding his face in publicity shots. He’s had a host of sell out shows across the country and published various best selling collections. You can see him this month at Metronome. Support comes from Nottingham based poet Annie Cross, who is chair of Nottingham City of Literature’s Youth Board.
