Create Your Own 'Tuck-me-in' Story with Naomi Tipping

About this event

Come and make an interactive book with author and illustrator, Naomi Tipping. You will illustrate your own Tuck Me In story, and 6 little characters that can live inside or outside of the pages. Will you turn the pages of your book into beds that your characters can be tucked into? Or outfits that your characters can try on? Or something else altogether..? The possibilities are endless! 

Tickets are £6 per child or £5 with a plus card. Adults can accompany children for free. Book and ticket bundles cost £13, please make sure you select the correct book for your bundle.

Naomi Tipping is an illustrator and lecturer based in Nottingham, UK. In 2025 Naomi graduated with a distinction from the MA Children’s Book Illustration course at Cambridge School of Art. There she enjoyed focusing on children’s books and developing a more painterly, immediate and playful visual language. Naomi loves experimenting with materials, seeing how they respond to each other, and using unlikely materials in her work. Naomi likes tackling difficult subjects in her work, in a warm and accessible way, as well as making silly things that make people smile! 

In 2024 Naomi won the Batsford Prize for Illustration with her picturebook Oh Crumbs. In 2025 she was highly commended for the Sebastian Walker prize. She was a finalist in the 61st edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition. Her first author-illustrator book Cats in Pants published in September 2025 and Night Night Cats and Get Dressed Dogs will publish in July 2026. 

When Naomi isn’t at her desk she can be found running around Nottingham, swimming in a lake or curled up on the sofa with her cats and dog!
