The Hallé Orchestra returns for its popular DriveTime Concert, presented at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall. This 60-minute performance celebrates the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the USA, through a carefully curated musical programme.
The concert features works from celebrated composers including Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa, Arturo Márquez, and Leonard Bernstein, alongside iconic pieces by Elgar and Piazzolla. A specially formed DriveTime Choir will perform alongside the 80-piece orchestra, creating a distinctive musical experience. The performance begins at 6pm, allowing audiences to enjoy the concert before the evening rush and still have time for dinner or family commitments.
Audience members interested in joining the DriveTime Choir can participate in rehearsals on 2 and 11 June, with reduced ticket prices available for choir members. This event welcomes families and those new to live orchestral music, with on-stage introductions to each piece.
