Anna Tsybuleva, 2015 Leeds Piano Competition winner, presents a programme of Chopin Nocturnes and Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit. The recital explores selections from Chopin's Op. 9, Op. 27 and Op. 48, showcasing the lyrical qualities and contemplative character that define the nocturne form. Ravel's three-part fantasy depicts contrasting characters: the water nymph Ondine, a gallows spectre, and the mischievous spirit Scarbo, demonstrating the work's considerable technical demands.

Part of the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall's Sunday Piano Series, this informal performance includes an introduction from the stage and an opportunity to meet the pianist in the bar afterwards. An ideal cultural outing that allows time for a leisurely Sunday lunch.
