Streetwise Opera presents a contemporary reimagining of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, directed by Rosie Kat. This production features performers who have experienced homelessness alongside special guest artists, accompanied by live music from the Orchestra of Opera North. The narrative follows Figaro and Susanna as they challenge an abusive boss to reclaim their future, supported by the Countess in their fight for justice.
The production combines Mozart's original score with new commissions by Alex Ho and Tim Lole. A practical workshop will explore the collaborative creative process behind this reimagining. Part of the Reimagining the Classics initiative, this production offers audiences an opportunity to experience opera's classic stories through a fresh perspective, performed across Nottingham, Manchester and London.
