This course is designed to give you the skills to make up different styles of improvised songs with others and to deliver them with confidence.
What to Expect:
Musical Improv 101 is a joyful, supportive introduction to creating songs in the moment — even if you’ve never sung onstage before. You don’t need any vocal training, dance ability, or music theory. After working with Naomi, you will be able to improvise musical numbers.
Across the term, you’ll learn how to:
Build confidence singing in front of others
Create simple improvised melodies
Discover the emotional heart of a song
Use rhythm, repetition, and chorus structure
Work with a pianist
Improvise duets, group numbers, and character songs
Support your scene partners and make them shine
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
Create a made-up song from scratch
Confidently sing in scenes
Work with music cues
Perform a simple improvised musical number as a team
Musical Improv 101 is all about bravery, joy, and laughing your way through the unknown. You’ll leave each session buzzing.
