Spirited Followers, an experimental folk ensemble from Cardiff, blend Appalachian, Indian classical, Greek, and post-rock influences into a distinctive sonic landscape. Drawing from the musical traditions of Cyprus, India, Wales, Ireland, and England, the band crafts a sound that honours cultural heritage whilst embracing avant-garde experimentation.
This evening features Kinaara, a Leeds-based trio whose music weaves Punjabi folk and Celtic narratives with Indian classical improvisations. Anchored by the distinctive vocals of Satnam Galsian and Johnny Hogg's electric guitar work, their sound explores the intersection of traditional raags and darkly electric folk aesthetics.
Local singer-songwriter Ol Bailey completes the bill, bringing contemporary folk compositions informed by classic 1960s songwriting traditions. An evening showcasing how international musical traditions converge to create something distinctly contemporary.
