About this event
Non Canon is the indie-folk project of Barry Dolan, a Bristol-based singer-songwriter known for his work with alt-punk band Oxygen Thief. Moving away from heavy, distortion-driven sound, Non Canon explores intimate acoustic arrangements featuring sweeping strings, horns, and piano, allowing Dolan to develop a more introspective songwriting approach.
His third album, Certain Stories, represents a collaborative effort combining personal narratives with contributions from friends and fellow musicians. The record addresses themes including mental health, politics, and everyday reflections through poetic, carefully crafted lyrics. This performance at The Grove on 23 June features Sarah Carey.
