Doctor Mirabilis is the musical project of John Tully, whose literary songwriting and genre-blending approach has developed considerably since his early years as JT Songs. His work has drawn comparisons to Richard Thompson and Roland S. Howard, earning him support slots on Silver Jews tours across Ireland and the United States. Following a period away from performing, Tully returns with material from his recent album 'Beach Songs' alongside tracks spanning over two decades.
The evening features support from Jon Hughes, an American-born songwriter based in Cork whose music combines rootsy elements with melodic sophistication, and R.L. Hughes, a pianist and vocalist exploring jazzy, soulful territories in her solo work.
