Sunday, 12 July, 2026 marks the 185th anniversary of the birth of Nottingham's most flamboyant architect, Watson Fothergill. To celebrate, tour guide Lucy Brouwer of the Watson Fothergill Walk presents an illustrated talk about some of the further-flung examples of the architect's work, plus a peek inside some of his buildings.
Find out about the origins and afterlife of Fothergill buildings including Woodborough Road Baptist Church, Simons and Pickard's paper warehouse and Hucknall Coffee Tavern.
Plus photos from inside Fothergill's office on George Stree and the Bank on Thurland Street.
The event will take place inside a Fothergill building, The Castle Pub's upstairs function room.
Doors for the event will be at 6 pm - The talk will start at 7 pm prompt.
