The Moonlighters Big Band, the auditioned ensemble of the University of Nottingham's award-winning Blowsoc society, brings together 18 talented student musicians for an evening of jazz and funk. Led by musical director Sam Toth, the ensemble performs a diverse repertoire spanning jazz standards, swing classics, and big band arrangements alongside contemporary adaptations of pop, rock, and electronic favourites.
This annual showcase at Peggy's Skylight represents a highlight of the band's year, featuring two sets with an interval. The performance demonstrates the musicians' technical ability, stage presence, and the evident camaraderie that characterises their work throughout the academic year. Doors open at 6pm with the performance commencing at 7pm. Food is available for separate purchase.
