Mikey Kenney returns to Peggy's Skylight for an evening of folk music performed by his acclaimed trio. A respected fiddle player, singer, songwriter and composer from Liverpool, Kenney has established himself as an important figure in preserving English and Irish traditional fiddle music whilst developing his own progressive compositions. His recent album 'Tiny Little Light' demonstrates how he integrates traditional fiddle forms with contemporary arrangements and diverse influences including psychedelia, bluegrass and jazz.
The evening features two sets with an interval. Opening the show is Staffordshire instrumentalist and composer Rosie Brownhill, whose pastoral music provides a fitting introduction to the evening. Doors open at 6pm with the performance starting at 7pm. Food is available for separate purchase.
