Bryan Corbett’s Instrumental Groove Unit [Jazz/Groove]

Bryan Corbett, a Birmingham-based trumpeter and flugelhorn player, returns to Peggy's Skylight with his Instrumental Groove Unit. Drawing on an extensive career as a session musician with artists including The Brand New Heavies, Us3, and the BBC Concert Orchestra, Corbett brings considerable experience across jazz, funk, soul, and pop genres.

This project showcases original material with an emphasis on groove and improvisational freedom. Corbett explains: "A chance to play some original tunes and ideas coming to it from a slightly different angle than I normally would." Joined by Luke Harris, Paul Deats, and Wayne Matthews, the performance offers an exploration of contemporary instrumental music rooted in groove-based traditions.
