The Living Map: come and explore a 3D interactive model of Nottingham City
About this event
The Living Map offers visitors an interactive exploration of Nottingham City through a 3D printed model displayed at Nottingham Central Library. The model, which received the British Cartographic Society's Map of the Year award in 2024, is enhanced with dynamic projection to reveal the city's historical, cultural, environmental and urban dimensions from multiple perspectives.
Developed by the University of Nottingham in partnership with Nottingham City Council, the installation demonstrates how different data and viewpoints can deepen understanding of urban geography. Hosted sessions led by the University's City as Lab initiative and School of Geography invite participants to engage with the model and discover new ways of seeing their city.
