Local authors Anne Goodwin and Clare Stevens examine how fiction has responded to the Covid-19 pandemic. Drawing on works by international authors alongside their own novels 'Heartsound' and 'Lyrics for the Loved Ones', they explore the universal themes—both positive and negative—that emerge in pandemic-inspired literature. The discussion considers why some writers viewed lockdown as a significant historical moment worthy of documentation, while others saw it as a period to move beyond.
