Brian and The Pie Fanzines (Film screenings + Q&A)

This event celebrates two iconic Nottingham football fanzines through documentary screenings and discussion. The Pie, launched by Notts County supporters in 1987, and Brian, created for Nottingham Forest fans in 1988, were vital communication channels during the pre-internet era when fanzines shaped fan culture. Both publications documented significant moments in local football history across their respective runs.

A LeftLion regeneration project, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, has revived these fanzines in 2024. Two short documentary films explore their legacies, screening back-to-back with a Q&A session featuring producer Jared Wilson and fanzine representatives. Tickets are £5 and include a limited edition postcard set. All proceeds benefit Holly's Merry Moggies, a Nottingham cat rescue organisation.
