About this event
London Assurance, originally written by Dion Boucicault and revised by Richard Bean, offers a witty take on Restoration-style comedy. Set in 1840, the play follows Sir Harcourt Courtly, a vain member of London's fashionable society who finds himself reluctantly travelling to Gloucestershire to court his intended bride, Grace. This theatrical production promises sharp dialogue and social commentary wrapped in period charm.
