Award-winning jazz pianist Lucas Walters brings his distinctive musical voice to JamCafe on Wednesday 25 March 2026. Drawing influence from spiritual jazz, jazz fusion, avant-garde styles, free improvisation, R&B and soul, Walters blends rich harmonies with expressive lyricism to create emotionally engaging performances.

This concert showcases the finalised material from Walters' Young Composers Commission, awarded by Midlands Jazz and Arts Council England at the beginning of 2026. The performance features an expanded large ensemble including Gary Reader on saxophone, Klara Devlin on trumpet, Dominique Simone on vocals, Beau Presley on bass, Miles Pillinger and Jamie Sykes on drums. Expect original compositions alongside modern reinterpretations of established songs.
