I SEE YOU: Concepts of the 'Self' within Portraiture’, is an exhibition presenting the final portraits from the Two Chairs project - opening to the public from Saturday 4th to Saturday 11th July 2026 at Broadway Gallery.

About Two Chairs Project

Our relationship with portraiture has changed constantly through time, and in today’s world – where our concepts around self, society and what it truly means to be human is being challenged – perhaps now is the perfect time to explore how we can use portraits to strengthen our relationship with ourselves, as well as with each other.

After several guided interviews and art workshops, a series of portrait paintings representing members of the community will be developed, focusing on letting the participants take the lead – prompting them to think about who they are, what stories they want to tell, and what it really means to have your portrait painted in today’s society.
