The Leeds City Stompers bring their authentic pre-war rhythm and blues performance to Billy Bootleggers. Formed in 2011, this community string band draws inspiration from 1920s and 1930s American music, featuring washboards, vintage drum kits, double basses and resonator guitars.
The group performs a varied repertoire of blues, swing, jazz, traditional and folk music, including works by Robert Johnson, Blind Boy Fuller and Hank Williams, alongside original compositions. Their style recreates the sound of early American floor fillers that predated the rock and roll era.
The performance takes place at 5pm with free entry. The evening continues with additional live music and DJs until 3am.
