The Leeds City Stompers bring their distinctive pre-war rhythm and blues sound to Billy Bootleggers. This community string band, formed in 2011, performs a repertoire spanning blues, swing, jazz, traditional and folk music from the 1920s through 1940s era, featuring washboards, vintage drum kits, double basses and resonator guitars.
Drawing from classic American blues artists including Robert Johnson and Blind Boy Fuller, alongside traditional country standards, the band delivers an authentic interpretation of early musical styles. Their performance captures the spirit of community string bands that defined decades past, complemented by original compositions.
The Leeds City Stompers take the stage at 9pm with free entry. The evening continues with additional live music and DJs until 3am.
