Celebrate the unveiling of Nottingham's new Maid Marian sculpture with Our Marian, a free exhibition preview at BACKLIT Gallery.

Inspired by Alicja Biała's new public sculpture for Maid Marian Way, the exhibition brings together contemporary artworks, bronze sculpture and community-created pieces exploring the folklore and legacy of one of Nottingham's best-known figures. Visitors can see two bronze sculptures by Biała, three newly commissioned works by BACKLIT's feminist collective Lumina, and headdresses created during public workshops inspired by medieval craft traditions.

Join us for the free preview on Friday 17 July, 6–8pm at BACKLIT Gallery (Main Gallery, Second Floor).

Opening hours: Thursday–Saturday, 12–4pm
Admission: Free, no booking required during the exhibition.
